Anybody have a take on TRUE? (currently has an 8channel version out, the Precision 2 is coming soon)Neumann is recommending TRUE for all of it's mikes, and obviously has a motive, but they wouldn't likely connect their name without cause. The engineer, Tim Spencer has supposedly had a lot to do with development of Tascam products like their 2424 recorder.
The pre uses OP amps from a company Tim worked for (Bear something). The new Apogee TRAK 2 also uses OP amps.
According to Avalon, OP amps allow them to drop to about 18 volts, instead of the higher Avalon 50volts, and thereby causes a "thinner" sound. Wonder if this "problem" has been resolved by more advanced OP's.?
