I feel the whole mic thing is a part of the recording process - unless you are building a mic, in which case you have the new tech's forum or Stephen Paul. IMO, all posts about mic technique should go in tracking & mixing.

I know in the past that whenever I've had hardware questions about microphones i would tend to go to either Producers/Engineers/HARDWARE or Stephen Paul. For applications i often post at tracking and mixing because so many other related topics are usually being simultaneously actively discussed there. But if you changed the name to "mics and placement" it would probably draw more of those kind of questions to this forum. :cool:
