my isolation room is adjacent to my control room...
what are some ways you have guitarists record with their amp in the isolation room and them standing next to you? any and all variations would be helpful thanks!
You need to run a cable into the room, plugged into the guitar amp.
You need to mic it up, and run a cable back out to your preamp/interface.
Unless you have 2 kickass wireless systems to hand, this is your only solution.
How you run the cables to the room and back is up to you though. Can they go under the door? Got an air vent on the wall that you can screw off?
Normally panels for such connections are built into the wall in a studio.
depending on the size of the room, an ambient boundary mic (stuck to the wall for instance) helps too. an iso room may be too small for any real benefit. and if its super damped/dry the boundary is useless.
but yes, as far as cabling goes, a patch panel (airtight/or isolated with the room) is your best bet.
