I'm looking for a 2nd compressor to put in my chain after my Gyraf Gyratec X Vari-Mu.

I use the Vari-Mu for warmth, mix-glue, and 2-3dB of compression.

I was/am considering another Gyraf, the Electro-Optical Gyratec III, but I would appreciate any other suggestions, something which main purpose is extra compression for levelling out before going into limiting. Perhaps something a bit more transparent.

Price idea, $5.000

Yeah, it's not uncolored.
But give it a try, maybe Jacob has one around for testing?

For mixing and mastering I use ADAM S2.5A monitors, for mixing also NS-10M, and finally some white Minipods because because the chicks dig them.

I'm very satisfied with the S2.5A's. The only other monitors I like almost as much are the Klein + Hummel O 300 D's.

My main job is production, song writing and mixing, and some mastering on the side.

the ice hotel is in the north of sweden.... and if you don't like cold weather stay away from october to may

you'd be amazed of copenhagen in august.... the girls are here...

and let me say..... helena christensen isn't that special when you live in denmark....

If you come to Denmark you can stay at my parents cozy Bed & Breakfast, 25 minutes away from Copenhagen, near the forest and 18 holes golf course, in a thatched village house anno 1790.

I've got some spare THAT2180LB chips that you can buy cheap if you decide to built Jacob's SSL clone. I bought 25 but only use 6 for two SSL clones, that I just finished. The 2180LB has slightly more distortion than 2180LA but is still much better than the old 2150 chip. The project is fairly simple compared to some of the other projects.

I have the utmost respect for the Danish. I think they do build some of the finest gear out there. And they like to let us know it. Soon they will be sailing their Viking boats to conquer first the Germans, then the Sweds. After that, It's the US and Japan. Soon they will return to their previous glory as dominators of the world, well at least in regards to audio.

Actually Minipods is just a brand, Scandyna is the company. And, yes, it's a top company in terms of design and sales success.

I've got two. You are welcome to borrow one of them for a couple of days. I can't of course guarantee that they are 100 % flawless, but couldn't find any error to the best of my abilities.

I don't normally read mails during the weekends because I haven't got internet at home, but you can try calling 35 38 78 56.

BTW, I think I once read somewhere that the inventor of the loudspeaker was born in Denmark (even though he did the invention while living in U.S.) and that he later regretted his invention when he heard Hitler's propaganda using the loudspeaker.
