Im looking to build my own "Flight" cases (I think they are called) for all my gear. Guitar amp head, cab, rack gear, microphones and a bass combo. Buying cases for all these would cost me more than the equipment itself so I want to build them instead. Im figuring somewhere between 1/2"-3/4" plywood. My only problem is that I have no idea where to get the metal pieces that run along the edges of the case, the corner covers, external handles, what to line the inside of the case with and how to attach it, or latches to open and close the case. Does anyone know where I can get this stuff or maybe even know a site that has some helpful info on this subject? Thanks a lot!

Don't want to hijack your thread, but I'm also interested in a case for mics, so I can leave them in their shockmounts. Does anyone know how to get that very firm foam that you sometimes get inside mic cases?

Fooldog,
I've managed to get some good aluminium cases from hardware stores. They're sold as toolboxes, but you might be surprised by what you can pick up. The best part is that they tend to be a lot cheaper. I've seen some really big ones, but probably not large enough for your bass combo. Still it's worth a try.
