Welcome Phat !

I hope, you didn't post only to make publicity. This forum is all about sharing knowledge and help people making there own mixing and mastering.

BTW, Mastering pre-mastered samples or vsti, sounds kind a easy.. Anyone can play sounds on Nexus2 vsti and burn it to a CD and tell it's been mastered. Mastering is a bit more than that.
I'd present some acoustic stuff if you want to show off and get customers. (my 2 cents) A before and after project that was mixed by another studio would maybe better show what you can do..

About the song; it's kind of just a rithme, isn't it ? No strong melody or solo instrument... I guess it'll be a great tool for a DJ that wants to use it as transition between other songs. But by itself ???

I can't comment on the style itself, as it's just not my thang. Not something I would normally listen to.

Mastering a track like this isn't nearly as challenging as mastering something more organic with actual performance-based dynamics and real-time performance issues by actual players.

When you're using sequenced based samples, you can set your velocities to max out, alleviating most of the standard peaks and valleys you would find in a more natural musical performance/recording, and, this style isn't really known for its dynamics, anyway. Most of what I hear in this style is "balls to the wall" loudness, limiting.. and it's accepted as such by the people who dig this style.

You've got very little dynamic range to worry about in a style/track like this, so mastering it is far less challenging than doing so with a track that is using real instruments with the tone and dynamics based on actual performances by real players.

If you are attempting to provide an example of what you can do mastering-wise, or to gain potential clients, I suggest you post something less sequenced-sample based, and provide something more organic, unless you are looking to only master stuff within the realm of what you posted, at which point your competing against every guy with Pro Tools, Sonar, Reaper, Cubase and an L1/L2 Plug.

Just my opinion, of course.

To the OP. You are never going to impress this community on this mix, its the wrong music here. See the domain "recording" . This pretty much means the majority record real music with microphones around here. Electronic music is considered the simplest form of audio. Other than the small distorted vox parts, this song shows no recording skill or connection to the real world and takes very little effort to master this stuff compared to rich acoustic music. There is no acoustic information in this to show off your mastering skill.

Maybe I'm wrong but my experience so far is a few plug-ins and a brickwall limiter is about all you need?

That being said, I actually like this stuff in tiny doses, lol. Its cool when you are shopping for certain products like clothing around hot chicks. There is definitely a market for this style but as far as mastering it, its a 10 min job in/out? " 25 bucks" and its done in less than 10 min's.
Programming it though, well that's another story. I have programmed and produced hours of this stuff. Contrary to the general opinions here, it does take skill but of another kind.
How do you take it though? It isn't the healthiest for your mind.

I really enjoyed this video, thanks!
