WOW !! I love this clean and nearly no reverb approach.
I think it's your best recording/mix to date.
It might be a bit hot with the low-mids in certain area of the song .. but it's minor thing
There is an easy to fix digital glitch at 1:45 (or someone unplugged an instrument ;) )

I heard the low mid mud you speak of and rolled some lows off the piano, as well as the kick and bass. ... and I thought the mix might be just a hair too dry, so I added a slight short reverb to the two buss and mixed it ever so slightly in the way back. I didn't want to lose any of the up front sonic clarity ... just add a little "room glue" to the band. Too much?

I really like this song and the mood..
Other than the snare sounding a bit boxy. (maybe a bit of verb just on the close snare mic) .. on second thought.. leave it like this.. it works ;)
