Hi there! I'm new to all this so god help me I'll make some mistakes. BUT I've recently took an Interest In FRouE music. (NOTE : FRouE stands for Funk. Rock. House. Experimental electronic music.). But my question is I don't know what kind of gear I should buy! I've conflicted with launchpads and Controllers but I don't know which one is best for a newcomer. Can anyone help me with this? also I'm on a budget...

You've got 22 views but no reply.. I guess I'll give you a push ;)

You say you want some gear but your not so precise on what you want to do.
Do you want to perform or record ?? or do you want to record performances ?? With a computer and a DAW software, you can acheive alot.. Some will appreciate FL Studio..

So tell us more ..

Thanks for the response pcrecord! I need live gear and Recording Gear... The computer I have at the moment is on it's last leg... So I'll have to wait but I'm conflicted with Controllers.... I'm thinking of a Akai MPD26 USB/Midi Pad Controller But then I look at Akai Pro APC40 Ableton Controller. Then I get confused and I don't know what a beginner Needs.... I want to soon be the DJ at my schools party so I'll cover the music but I might wanna do a live mix.. can you help me?

The akai seems a nice controler for starting samples and aplying effect or filters on them. But, for a DJ you need a controler that is more turntable/mixer style.
You could buy something like : Reloop Terminal Mix 2 DJ+ Controller Bundle
But to get your hand on DJing, start with a laptop and a software, like Virtual DJ. See if you like it first, then add a controler or a different software.
let aside the DJ thing, performers rather use Loopers, samplers and other gear. they rather not play recordings but generate sounds from synthetisers and samplers, beatbox etc...

Perform and DJ is two seperate approach.. If you are to make money with DJ work, I'd start there. A laptop full of quality MP3 and a software.. then add a controler for the software.. Later add other gear to incorporate performances.. start safe : 5-10min of performance within DJ work is intense at first !! ;)
