Hi,

http://jchmusic.com/cpr-o5.mp3

Please have a quick listen to this song from 'CPR' a few years back (it's basically DAvid Crosby and his step-kid). I really like the overall 'sound' of this track. The timbre of the fill guitar off to one side is (to me) truly extraordinary and I'd like to replicate that sound. It's like the typical strat 'position 2 or 3' but on STEROIDS. I dunno if it's extreme compression or EQ or -what- but the pinched harmonics, sustain and overall 'squawk' the guy is able to pull off is pretty amazing.

Examples: 1:43 or so and 2:48 - 2:58 or so but it's all through the track.

I can usually get one aspect down (sustain) but then the levels will be uneven between top and bottom of the instrument. Or if I get a good recorded sound with the harmonics, the low end is weak.

Any ideas on how is this done?

TIA,

---JC
