Transistor Radio Effect

Hey guys,
I have recorded some vocals and I was wondering if anybody knows how to make the vocals sound like there coming out of an old transistor radio.

I have Cubase SX and Waves plugins. I'm sure this is quite simple using an EQ but I cannot seem to get the desired effect.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Hi,

Try dropping everything below about 500hz on the low end, and everything above about 6khz on the top end. Max your middle frequencies (750-2k). Play about a little around there.

perhaps restrict the dynamic range ... lots ... (compress)

then a hint of distortion .... could also add some hiss/noise underneath

The Cubase plug has an EQ preset called "radio effect" .
