Samplitude - Problem Opening Project
Forums
I am getting a blue screen during the process of opening an existing project that I haven't been in since last year. All of my other projects open just fine. I'm wondering if it could be a plugin or something. Is there a way to disable plugins during the time you are opening the project? to maybe get around what the problem is and at least open the project with just the raw tracks?

Avoiding phase when doubling strings
Forums
Hi,
I am recording a string section which consists of 6 violins and 2 cellos. We will be doubling ( by re-recording a second take ) the section and are concerned about potential phasing issues.
Does anyone have any advice as to how to avoid any phasing between the doubled parts at the recording phase.

Electro-Voice RE20 for acoustic guitar?
Forums
I have a client coming in later this week; a singer-songwriter who plays acoustic ( I don't know what model, he has several) and in our phone conversation, he was asking me about my mic selection; I gave him a general overview of what I had, and when I mentioned - in passing - that I have several dynamics, including an Electro-Voice RE20, he got excited with the idea of me Micing his a

Best stools for studio guitarists
Forums
What the best stool you've used for playing acoustic guitar?
- One that isn't squeaky, noisy and well padded?
- Would you choose 24 inch or 30 inch?
That being said, I was looking at the Taylor and Gibson stools. Gibson' s have sore butt reviews. There is nothing on the Taylor's but they look more comfortable.

New Mic / Pre, Vocal Questions
Forums
I record singer-songwriter stuff (soft rock that strays into easy listening) using an AT4040 (vocal) into a Clarett pre/interface & Logic Pro X. I'm in a treated room that sounds pretty good ( I did measurements in the dihedral/trihedral corners when building bass traps & also eliminated comb with site build absorbers).

A question about the main ST fader of a digital mixer
Forums
Hello Everyone,
Good to be back posting here after a long time. Would love your insights on this.
Recently I mixed a couple of tracks and even started casual listening by keeping the main ST fader on my digital mixer (Yamaha n12) at -6 db instead of 0 db, and observed that its much more enjoyable.

Dogs (Pink Floyd cover)
Forums
Hey all,
Finally finished mixing my band's latest installment in our Animals cover - the legendary 17-minute trip that is Dogs. We aimed for something respectful of the original but with a modern sheen. What do ya'll think?
