Hello, this is my first post to this forum. I have been researching the topic of creating a DAW seriously for the past two-three weeks. I have decided I want to have the system built by someone else, as I would rather not learn how to assemble a system with premium parts.
Recording (live or studio)
Hello,
I would like you to please listen to the following recording and give some tips on some EQ I should apply to the vocal...
The background is an instrumental from the play/show Wicked...
A girl in my high school decided to record a cover song to the song As Long As Your Mine
What you are about to hear is just the main vocal layer and the instrumental.
Hello. I am a musician of 7 years (I'm only 20) and have never done sound recording before. I have been in and recorded in semi- pro studios a few times and understand the basic fundamentals. I have too many ideas in my head and on cassette tape that I've decided to go with a recording setup. How would you guys rate this setup for a first timer?
Ok..I'm running Pro Tools on a Digi002 off a Apple G5 dual processor computer.
Quick question, I am currently buying a new pair of near field monitors for my studio and I am haveing a problem deciding on what would be the best monitors for around a grand. I have worked with the KRK V8 out of various studios and I absolutly love these monitors and I am leaning towards these. I just wanted to get some opinions from other engineers with there personal preferences.
Samson Resolv 50a vs Roland DM20 vs Wharfedale DP8.1A Diamond Pro.
Anybody know a thing or two about these active monitors?
I'm looking for the best monitors I can buy in the $250 and below price range.
Thanks for any tips and/or advise you could provide!
Opinions on best preamp match for Royer24 ribbon mic,
for recording classical ensembles in a wide variety of situations.
I've been thinking Millennia HV3D or Crookwood Paintpot.
Also curious as to hear Ben's comparison of the Pacifica preamp
to these ones.
Heh, Hi: All - I'm an idiot that knows nothing about anything and needs the help of anyone who knows what they are doing so plz... enjoy answering the following questions:
-Best Drum mics (around a 7 mic set) for around $200-300
I've been looking at the samson 7kit
I got a hold of an Magneto Optical Disk Recorder (AKAI DD1000). It seems to be a very obsolete format and the machine actually doesn't seem to work. Someone told me that the A/D converters are pretty good, though.
Okay I am somewhat of a noob. I've been recording on cool edit with my soundblaster for about 6 years now. Four years ago I made the mistake of buying a Lexicon core 2, which is one of the reasons I was so hesitant about jumping back into the world of digital recording. But the other day I decided enough was enough and took my hard earned money and bout a PreSonus firepod.
