OK, have to say this topic scared me as I admit I have been running at this new build with little to no knowledge really. I have a guy coming Monday to start ripping the old sheet rock off. I bought 9 rolls of #1 MLV and some acoustic caulk. Guy from Soundproofing america says it just needs to be put on to studs, caulk applied and sheet rock put back over.

I'm trying to to a bit of tracking in my apartment. For those of you who are familiar with the living environment, you know that cranking an amp is out of the question. I've been using a SM57 on my Peavey Classic 50 212 with adequate results. The problem is that I have to have the input level on my Tascam US-122 really high.
