96 to 44.1 conversion work around?

I've been recording and mixing 32 track plus sessions at 44.1 24bit for a while now and am considering increasing my sample rate to 96khz. I mix in the box and like many others my final destionation is CD and I'm worried that a sample rate change of that size will actully sound worse than a session kept at 44.1 24bit.

I work in pro tools, generally in a 24/96 session. I am currently processing AIF 16/48000 tracks. Do I import them in a 24/96 session or do I create a 16/48 session?

I use Pro Tool 6.7 LE on a G5 Mac osX.

I will eventually cut a 16/44.1 CD-R. I only have the POW-r plugin in pro tools for dithering.

Thank you

converting a 48k tracked session to 44.1k CD?

Hey guys,

I tracked a session at 48k using a Focusrite preamp. I mixed it. I mastered it, but when I went to bounce and convert to 44.1 for CD burning, the conversion didn't happen properly, and thus my recording has been tranquilized. Can someone give me some suggestions (aside from "don't track in 48k")? Thanks!

Good afternoon,

Anybody know if there is a way to convert sd2s to wav files than going out from a PT system and recording into another daw with, say, wavelab?

I know JAM should play sd2 files, can you convert w/ it as well?

Thanks,

Chris
