I wasn't sure what the right forum was for this question as it's not necessarily related to recording, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with moving gear around in the cold.
So i was parked outside today for a good 6-7 hours and I left one of my microphones (MXL V63M Condenser) in the car. It happens to be the coldest weekend all year in Chicago this week, and its below zero the whole time. So i just got home, and noticed my mic sitting in the car freezing cold. Is this going to mess up my microphone?
I just got this setup the other day mainly to record french horn in a mix and alone for practicing.
I guess I just assumed I would plug it in and there would be a slider on the mixer that I could control the gain with and if it was too hot I would turn it down until it is just right.
