Is there any merit to this idea?
Have two installations of XP Media Ed. (yeah i know) on my computer?
One with internet and normal features and the other with just the barebones necessary to run music?
I believe I read about this concept somewhere on these forums, but alas I cannot re-find it.
Hi,
I'm putting together a PC/DAW, it's my first build and i keep going 'round in circles.
If possible, i'd like a dual-boot system, one boot as windows xp pro (32 bit) and the other either XP pro-64 or Vista 64 (to run Sonar 6)
my hardware is.
Mobo> Asus P5W DH Deluxe
Processor> core 2 duo 6700
This may be a silly question, but is it possible to install the same copy of WindowsXP on 2 different HDs in a single computer? So I could have a hard drive with just all the essential recording stuff loaded, and then a seperate hard drive with all the MS Office, Internet, etc stuff loaded.
Hey, i'm needing to purchase a new PC soon and the one i have my eye on is a P4 3.4ghz 2gb ram beast.
Now, i will be using the PC for two purposes. Audio production and Home PC uses (Net, etc).
I will have atleast 3 Harddrives in the machine.
Are there any dual boot tutorials or directions geared toward DAWs. I have general info from a variety of sources. I want a dual boot XP/XP and want to be sure that on booting up (regardless of OS) that I only see my C drive and my audio data drive. Do I need to start from a reformatted disk?
Hey Guys,
My PC:
Pentium 3 1000 Mhz
512 RAM
60G HD - on Primary Master (Win98se - DAW)

I'm looking to reformat my 'ol trusty g4 to a dual boot. so i can have osX and os9. then id like to save all my PT (6.1) files to an external 120gb drive and so i can work with my projects on both 9 and X...is this possible? because i love osX but i have a lot of plugins that only work with 9..thus my problem

Hi all-
I'm reconfiguring my DAW, which (unfortunately) has to sometimes double for other non-DAW uses.
I have kept the 2 separate up to this point by keeping the 2 OS's on different HDs using a removeable drive bay. Worked great, but the bay fan is too loud.
