drum mixing

I'm mixing a project with two drummers on most of the songs, much like The Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers etc. I've been pondering my panning approach and, though I've kind of got it figured out, it would be useful to hear what others have done or think they would do with two kits before I settle on something.

I know peeps here aren't HUGE into Adobe Audition, but I use CS6 and love it. Just wondering if any of you could throw some tips/tricks my way on what kind of mixing techniques or effects you use on snare/bass/overhead condenser for symbols, etc.

Okay, so I'm posting this to find out what techniques people use when using MIDI drum samples for a beat. I'm new to this idea and am uncomfortable with it. I know I'm not going to get a sound that's as "open" as an acoustic drum set.

I have a cheap Behringer xenyx 1222 fx usb. it's a cheap mix cause I don't have cash to get propper material right now.

My drum kit is a pearl forum seriez and I use Istanbul samatya cymbals.

I have a Shure pg 52 on the bass drum, 2 samson co2 for overheads and a Shure sm58 for the snare.

I'm sure there are other topics on this but wanted to get some direct help. Our church went from an analog board to a digital one (Allen &Heath iLive T112). We actually just had some reps come in and put all new equipment in... But I have tried compression and eq'ing but I can get a low punchy kick drum.

I'd like a post about this. I will tell you, as simple as it get's, how I do stuff.

- bd mic pointing to the center for nice attack or not for more boom.
- sn 45º-60º towards sn center (no bottom mic)
- oh at 1.8 mts height (if the drummer hits them hard)

So, after that (good sound coming out), I just record and apply the following:

I'm using Garageband v 5.1, with Addictive Drums for drums; here's the process I got through with the drums:

Create an Addictive Drums software track [MIDI], program the track, and then export MIDI track to iTunes to create an audio file.

Import the created audio file, mix said audio file.

I'm currently working on a music project in Garageband [yes, not the best DAW, but I'm comfortable with it, and I can't afford high-end DAWs]; while I think I'm able to mix most audio fairly well, I'm still having trouble with drum mixing. I'm using Addictive Drums for the drum input; while I'm able to "record" the MIDI tracks the way I want, I'm having trouble mixing them.
