OK, I have been reading Rod's book and have a couple of questions about how to retrofit an existing space in regards to Mass Air Mass concept and keeping it airtight.

I am building some acoustic panels to hang on my wall and ceiling and as I have a dust allergy I want to make sure they are totally contained and can not leak dust through fabric. (I have not decided yet whether to build these from 2 inch 703 or 8lb density 2 inch rockwool panels.)
How about that ! ;)

I'm building a new home studio, as you might have guessed from the thread title. I have included MAX prices for each piece of equipment, but can rearrange if others are under. UK links only please.
I'm currently working on upgrading my studio and need some help on floor plan ideas that best suit the room and the acoustics in the room.
Below is 2 images one with the dimension in the empty room and the other is my initial idea. Let me know what you think would be the best use of this space.
My wife and I are moving into a new house. In the basement there's a spare room, that I want to turn into my new home studio.
Room size is approx. 236 sq ft/22 qm and 7.5 ft/2.27 m high.
I've recently been asked by several of my clients (I make part of my living working as a consultant to home studios) if cables really matter in the grand picture. I thought I'd share those thoughts here.
My answer is yes, it matters. It matters a lot.
