Hi all!
I'm saving up for a new microphone for recording bass cabinets and need some advice...I've seen people use all kinds of microphones on the net from ribbon mikes, condenser mikes, dynamic mikes to regular kickdrum mikes. But what would be a good choise for this? A Sennheiser 421? A Shure b52? A combo with a sm57?
Thanks for any advice!
Hello All!
I have a 16 x 20 building (15' 4" x 19' 4" interior) that I intend to create a studio in. My plan is to build two walls in a V shape at one end. The V would point to the back of the studio. Another wall would extend between the V point and the back wall of the studio, thus creating a control room on one side and a vocal/drum booth on the other.
Is there any overwhelming advantage to recording acoustic guitar with two or more mics? As a general principle, would better engineer's prefer that everything come together on one mic, or would they prefer to have two or more sources to work with?
Recording Orchestras So after some hard thought, I think this is something I am going to aI'm to get into.
I may be able to get my foot in the door at CBC studios in Toronto, but I also would like to freelance.
I figure I should be able to find a few choirs or orchestras around the city that need archival work done.
Hi all, can any of you guy/gals give me some advise on room tuning. I have a great room good equiptment and need to know if there is a external eq/tuner out there.

Just purchased a "WhisperRoom" to do over dubs.
Dims are .. 2' 11.5" x 4' 4.5" x 6' 8"
Has a nasty standing wave appearance at 250Hz .. pretty much makes it useless as a vocal booth in it's present state.
I have a couple of roominator kits coming from Auralex.
hey all,
can anybody recommend a book or site which contains handy topics regarding building a project studio, i.e, wall angles, wall material, power standards, wiring issues, you know what i mean.
Something that has the do's and donts.
NB: I appreciate their could be some editorial conflict here - so I won't be offended if this thread dissapears!
Has anyone got this DVD? (as advertised on the front page of RO)
Kurt,
If you want to compare foam to my products, at least do it fairly. That is, show the relevant frequency ranges. Since you are either unwilling or incapable of providing a fair and unbiased comparison, I request that you edit your post to remove all references to my company's products.
Thanks.
