fmr rnp

I have to choose between the two mic preamps: RNP or AMEK 9098 DMA. Which is better, which one to buy? Has anybody used or tested these side by side (money is not the question)?
I'd really appreciate any advice. ! :)

I was doing a recording session last week and was recording drums. I ran out of mics for the drum kit so one of the guys brought a SM58 with him. We used the sm 58 Hanging right over the Ride cymbal, about 2 inches up and away from the bell.
I ran that thru the RNP preamp and I was pleasantly surprised. Acutally blown away.

I went out today looking for a new pre and would like some input on these products. First, I"m looking for bugget gear and what I"ll come down to is the Brick or the RNP. Both products have good names in the ind. The RNP is going for about 80.00 more than the Brick. Is it worth the extra money? Is there any major diff. between the two?

So I'm pretty sure I'm going with an RNP this week, with leaves me with about $1K for another preamp. I want something that will sound good for vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, snare, bass DI and I'll probably throw some keyboards through it. Would it be wise to get something more colored considering the RNP is described as being so "neutral"?

I would really appreciate some suggestions or opinions regarding preamps (and good mics to match with) mentioned above.

I've been reading a lot about the Sebatron lately and the JLM TMP8. Price per channel-wise, the JLM is on par with the RNP, which supposedly is considered low-end "pro" gear.

I read you use the RNP for bass DI mostly. What kind of bass do you have? are you also recording a cab simultaneously?

Hey folks I've got a jOE mEEK mq3 - Would FMR Audio's RNP be a big improvement? or should I save up for a Great River ?
