Which key is this harmonica
I'm going nuts trying to find which key Steve Earle's harmonica is in this song. The song is en E, so I bought an E harmonica but it doesn't sound right. Can anyone help?

Hi guys just letting you know I'm a huge newbie and dont know a lot about mixing so any help would be awesome.
Basically the band I'm in got a show on a radio station and we all played well and we're thinking of turning the recording the station gave us into a live demo.
I am looking into buying a new dynamic mic for recording the harmonica.
My roommate is a fantastic player. I want to fully capture his talents.
I would greatly prefer one where it can be cupped, as I don't want to restrict him from rocking out to the song.
I am open to pretty much any ideas, so long as its not over $200.
Hello everyone,
Hello everyone,
Last night had a friend come by who wanted to "record a song." Well as it turns out it was a 13 minute folky fingerstyle type song. He did a juicy good job, but I had some trouble. I'm used to laying one track down at a time, or multiple mics for something like drums.
I recently conducted a small mic comparison with several different chromatic harmonicas. The mics are kinda not what I would have liked to have but they'll do for now until I get my close-miked session underway. I would have loved to test out an SM7 & maybe some ribbons but oh well.
I have a few tracks with an acoustic folk player I've done lately. Everything sounds ok except certain passages where she hits the harmonica. These were all tracked live with her playing acoustic guitar, singing and occasional harmonica all at once. I mic'd the acoustic guitar with a small condensor, and the vocals and harmonica (by default) went through an LDC.
Hi,
I am recording a harmonica, kind of bluesy song. Any suggestions as to best way to mic?
I am thinking SM58...Any EQ or Comp tricks would be appreciated..
hey guys,
i'm a folksinger and a songwriter and i'm trying to record my songs so i can get them out to people- i play guitar, mandolin, harmonica and kazoo as well as sing- i have a Boss BR-532 unit, and just recently got 2 MXL condesors, the 990 and 991, and an audio buddy pre-amp (previously i was using a cheap AKG live dynamic vocal mic)
