Hi,

I know this is a pretty simple and basic question that I should know, but I don't, so here I am.

I own a Focusrite ISA428 which I have been using for a couple of years now. I am just in the midst of setting up a new patchbayand I am starting to run a little thin on available connection points.

Onyx pres alongside a ISA428?

Looking to increase my inputs to accomADATe more live recordings. Currently have a Focusrite ISA428 into a Motu2408MKIII and we're looking at adding the Onyx 8 channel pre. Wondering if anyone here has experiece with it and how it might mate with the ISA.

Will most likely be used heavily to mic drumkits and some other instruments.

Respect...

Looking for good friends for STT-1, VMP-4000 and ISA428…

Hi!

I’ve finally got my business running quite nice and euros are coming in… it’s time to spend it all before my girlfriend wastes it on shoes! ;)

I have a small studio where I do mostly commercials and tv-themes. Since I also want to do some rock stuff that I can’t record in my “closet”, I’ve decided to build a mobile recording rack.

Got my ISA428, need something to complement it now

alright, got my ISA 428. Loving it. Now i'm looking for a compressor, or possible a channel strip with a very good compressor in it. I'm looking for something that will give my my drum samples major phatness. I was thinking maybe a thick Neve type piece to complement my ISA 482.

ISA428 vs. . VMP-4000e

well, I have heard really good things on both of these units and have never heard anyone compare them to each other. They are both 4 channel mic preamps, the 428 being solid state with the optional 8 channel ADAT out ($1699, $599 for optional ADAT a/d), and the VMP-4000e is tube with just analog outs ($1899). I know they have different "colors of sound", but is one better quality?
