New member- Control Room Window installation Rod's book

Hello everyone. My name is Mark. I am currently in the midst of building my home studio (live and control room) with the help of a local studio engineer, Dan Skye, here in central NJ. The walls are up and the glass thickness has been determined with the help of Rod's book (we both purchased a copy).

PA Sound Installation Advice

Currently designing a simple installed PA system for our school hall. It's a big space and quite boomy. I'm looking at Mackie C300Z's with the FRS2800 Amp.

What I'm wondering is, whether I should go with just a stereo pair or place a second pair further down the hall and possible a third pair at the back? (for flexibility at events)

Fresh XP installation: tweaks and configuration shortcuts?

I'm still using Windows XP Professional (SP2) and will probably continue to do so for some time. As such, I like to reformat my Windows/Applications drive at least every 6 months. I know exactly what registry changes, service settings, Windows settings, etc. I like to configure with each fresh installation, but it takes me a great deal of time to make all these adjustments.

Amateur Stage Installation

We're putting in a stage at our small church. We have 2 snakes right now. If we take mics into floor plates and out of floor plates into the snake and the snake into the mixer are we introducing interference problems? A simpler way to put it is how hard should we work to avoid the extra connection (i.e. floor plate directly to mixer)?

Thanks

Windows XP Clean Installation Tool

I found a tool that seems like it would be great for doing a super clean install of Windows XP.

It lets you customize the installation to install ONLY what you want it to. You can eliminate all the crap parts of windows that you don't need

that slow down your system. You can also slipstream service packs and [possibly] other updates as well.
