M-Audio Profire 2626 v Behringer UMC1820 - Different output frequency profiles?
I had been using a profire 2626 for the past 12 years or so. I switched to the Behringer UMC1820 because it plays a little nicer with Linux.

Hello.
I've got two M-audio Profire 2626. I was planning to record some music with a friend with these interfaces and my Windows desktop PC. Using Reaper.
I was setting up the two units to co-operate through TOSlink. The first unit was running as master, the other as slave. It was working very well, and Reaper detected all 16 channels.
I am going to go with the M-audio 2626 mainly cause it is compatible with Pro Tools. Any advice or input you have before i make the finals purchase?
As the title of the thread states... ProFire 2626 vs FireStudio 2626. I am looking to buy a high-endinterface soon and have been reading a lot of reviews on the potential units that I may buy.
I had originally thought of buying a 003R and getting some extra preamps for it, such as a digimax fs or fmr rnp. iv been wanting to get back into pro tools but that way is kinda expensive. so i was thinking of a profire from m-audio. i noticed m-powered is pretty much the same as le, just with out the music production tool kit.
