Master Wordclock from the RME UFX vs. Mytek AD96 ?
Alright gang,
Alright gang,
So I just topped my credit card again, to buy a Mytek ADC 96
My plan is to connect my Focusrite ISA two to the Mytek, then the mytek to my Focusrite Liquid Saffire 56 via spdif.
I also have a Octopre which is connected to the saffire 56 via ADAT.
I read the Mytek has a good clock so I want it as the master clock.
I have purchased Mytek Stereo96 DAC, and connected it to my MOTU UltraLite mk3 Hybrid .
I was totally blown away by the improvement this little Mytek DAC gave in sound quality .
But the dealer says that ít's much better to combine Mytek with a PCI audio card . He recommended RME HDSP 9632 .
Is that a good choice ?
Does it exist any better alernative ?
Digital 96kHz AES/EBU/SPDIF Meter - Vertical
Digital 96kHz AES/EBU/SPDIF Meter- Horizontal
I'm guessing I would know the answer to my question if I was using Pro Tools HD and other unmatched odds and ends in my converter chain? Mixing old with new to try and keep it all in sync for more IO however,
I've been recording for fun for a few years and was a little frustrated by how inferior my stuff sounds to real pro studio stuff. I have a Firebox, GT55 condenser, Shure beta58a, sm86 condenser, pg58, Cubase sx3, Waves plugins, Joemeek vc3 and PreSonus tube pre.
I wondering if there are any mytek users on this site.
I currently have a digi 002 w/ onyx 800r clocking it via ADAT. A rack of sca pres (4 a12s, 2 N72s, 2 J99s) And I also have an Echo audio fire 8 and mbox2.
Between the 3 the ad seems pretty close.
hi guys. i'm looking to upgrade my converters. I was kind of sure I wanted a Rosetta 200 (instead of RME ADI2 which was my original pick) but now I'm wondering if it would be better to get a Mytek96 ADC combined with Benchmark DAC1.
does anyone know if the mytek 8X96 is compatible with pro tools HD? (i'm assuming that its not...) if not, is it possible to use a pro tools HD compatible DIO card with it to compensate? or any other possibility?
