Hey All,
Mixing and mastering with headphones
I am thinking about selling my KRK Audio V8 monitors because I have been in the habit of using my headphones for years and years. Then I test my mixes on my computer speakers and then in my car. I feel like I have mixing and mastering down to a science with my headphones. I feel llike I can hear MORE detail with headphones.

When Mixing With Headphones Can Help
I'm pretty much in agreement with Dan Thompson's ( no relation, LOL) remarks on the video below.
Personally, I use them more for analytical referencing; checking for too much effect on certain tracks, panning, space and separation, listening for things like a short/cut fade, clicks or pops, etc.

Best Headphones for Tracking/Mixing? $180 max
I'll buy my first studio headphones. I'll use them for tracking vocals and for monitoring/mixing. I have $180.
I investigated and the best option seems to be the ATH M-50. What do you think? is the best option or do you recommend something else?
Thanks for the information!
Best Budget Monitors and Headphones for Mixing
My question is just that, I'm interested in everyone's opinion on the best budget monitors and/or headphones for mixing. Think $100-$200 for either a set of 2 monitors or a pair of headphones which still pick up nuances you'd need to be able to pick up on for mixing.
Mixing with Headphones
Grado headphones are something I'll have to get and the SPL Phonitor is also on my list for a few reasons. Doing a search, I found this article that you may find interesting.

Headphones for mixing
Hey everyone,
I am doing some basic mixing with various songs I can find on the internet to mix, nothing professional, just working on my mixing skills, and I am looking at buying some headphones to use. My question is, would Sennheiser HD-202's do the job? Any other options at a similar price range would also be helpful, monitors are not really an option at the moment.

SPL Phonitor
Man, SPL makes some really fine gear and the Phonitor sounds pretty cool. I can see how I could appreciate this when you are tracking and midi programming in your control room like I do all the time.
Check this out.

Mixing In A New Era: Listeners drop speakers in favor of headphones.
This topic is NOT about mixing on headphones. It is about the trend towards more and more use of headphones / earbuds by the public to LISTEN to music.
I do all of my mixing on a good set of near-field monitors in an appropriately treated room.
