Hello all
anyone have any opinions on the Neve 8801 channel strip? i have been saving my pennies for a pendulum quartet but this new Neve strip has a "total recall" feature that has interested me. plus its got an a/d converter option. reviews have been rather scarce however.
will be used mostly for male vocals with a k2 and sm7 mics
thanks
happy new year
I've read favorable reviews on these preamps, but wanted to see if anyone here has used them, and if so, what is your opinion?
Would it be better to get the Seventh Circle preamps, or the Neve's?
whats a good pick for a mic for hip hop and rnb? u87 or tlm103. should i get the Neve 1073 or 1176 universal audio?
Hi everyone,
I have the opportunity of getting a stereo pair of Neve 8108 preamps/eQ, cheapish.
I've been using a Joemeek Twin Q for a while, which is nice, but I'd like to invest in something a bit different, a bit 'better'...
I'm not famillair with Neve, but I've heard that the 8108 was not that popular a desk? Any suggestions?
I have recently been recording on a Neve 60 track console. I have no background working with a Neve console, and am still getting things down. The other people in their arent even using the Avalon 737s, UA 610's or Avalon 2020. are the pres that good? I know Neve has been known for better pres than ssl, but wasnt sure.
I currently own an api 3124, an Avalon 737 and universal 1176. Im looking for a transistor pre that i can also well use for recording vocals cause i think the api is to punchy. I tried a Neve 1073 and think it sounds awesome but its to pricy, so they told me the AMEK 9098 was a colorfull pre that could work.
I have a label putting out a few of my songs and they never asked me to sign anything. I plan on copyrighting them myself. I'm not to worried about getting money from the label if they sell.
Has anyone worked on a Roland VS Studio before?
I have a VS-1680 and no matter how I mic any instrument or vocal the recorded sound is always uneven, boomy and has no definition (muddy bass / zero crack of the snare / no 's' sound on the vocals). I am using the onboard preamps.
