Hi - Funny thing about this request, is I knew how to do this 15 years ago. At that time, my partner and I had a live weekly internet radio show, using a Real Audio server in Michigan (we're in South Florida) way before anyone ever heard the word "podcast." I used my Mixpad 12 to feed the mic's and music from a PC and via a 2nd computer, sent it out to the Real Audio server.

A buddy of mine and I started a podcast last year with one usb mic and Audacity...had a blast. We know nothing about audio.

Year #2..

We have a Behringer 1204 USB mixer and a JK Audio Telephone Hybrid and want to take calls. We are also looking to connect phone/iPod to play sound effects, etc

Which Microphone and 'XLR to USB' for Vocals and Podcasting?

Hello,

I'm doing some research on microphones for vocals and podcasting.

What would you recommend as a good starter kit for around ~100.
I will also consider things 'over budget' as well.

For now, I'm looking at things with a usb interface so I can use it immediately without extra gear.
The Audio-Technica AT2020 seems to do the job.

Hey guys. I'm starting an old time improvisational radio-style podcast (think The Lone Ranger, or The Shadow) with some friends who are improv actors and other such loony characters. I need some recording tips and suggestions. If you don't have direct experience, that's ok... feel free to improvise. :)
