I'm looking for a new vocal microphone, and I could really use your help to figure out the one that works best on my voice. So I've set up a poll to see which mic people like most from my my shootout. I ran the mic shootout at the local recording studio, but I used my own Echo Audiofire Pre8 preamps (cause that's all I own).

you may be asking why is he doing this again. Well, the last time I did this, my DAW (cubase) was messing up the sound of all the mics I had so it was not a proper shootout (thanks to GuitarLegend for his time and ears, without him I never would have found the issue).

Did a mic shootout at my local Sam Ash. Not very scientific, or in a quiet room, but a test none the less. All mics were recorded holding the mic about 4in away from the mouth, just straight into their Avid Pro Tools interface, recorded to PT10, 24bit/48khz. Mics were leveled out so that level variances didn't affect the way you heard the mic.
I recorded a very short excerpt from "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"(for demonstration purposes only of course). The goal was to do a bit of a shootout between reverbs:

My life is pretty hectic for the next two months, but I'm considering doing an LDC vocal mic shootout after things settle down. This is mostly me wanting to add a better mic to the locker for female vocal. I feel like I do pretty well with my dynamics or the K2 for male vocals, but I'd like something more "elegant" for female vocals.
