Yesterday I realized that the MIC input knob doesn't work with the values under the "off" selection (beetween +20 and +50).
After unmounted it I've seen that a cable is desoldered but I've got no idea to where he was soldered...
Any tips?? possibly with a photo since I don't have great electronics skills :D
Okay, just a re-cap, I had picked up a used big ben .. that the narrow lock light became intermittent, it was a cold solder joint on the board .. once re-flowed good to go ...

hey all, I'm pretty new to this section of RO and at a beginner level as far as understanding of electronics. I've become progressively more interested in the creative sonic options there are available thru electronics modifications and repair.
i'm building myself an iso cab. DON'T BACK OUT please. I'm planning on putting XLR Connector and 1/4'' connector (for speaker connection) on my iso cab. As far as soldering the XLR is concerned, i have no problem. The thing is about the 1/4''. i already have a #12AWG speaker cable that i used to conenct my Mesa Single Rectifier Rectoverb to my 4x12.
This topic comes up periodically, so I thought I'd make it a sticky. Please contribute your recommendations for all soldering tools in all price ranges.

Are all pots the same until you wire them to be either volume or tone? i.e. can I buy three of these...v link v ... and replace my existing volume/volume/tone with them?

I have an old weller soldering station I got from a job I had 30 years ago. It has finally given up the ghost.
I've got to solder up a few d-subs for the radar system in the studio. Was wondering if anyone could please give me a few tips or pointers to watch our for when doing this...

I am modifying some electronics tonite, and I need to solder some 22gauge wire onto many pins. these are the size of "jumper" pins, commonly found on circuit boards. I do not have a "wire-wrap tool".
