Building a home studio, but this is what i'm working with, looks like there's no two-ways about it in terms of budget, location etc.:
-Building it in a shipping container. Yup, that's right. About 20'x6.5', height around 6.5'-8'
-Budget for sound-proofing and acoustic treatment: around $7,000 maybe could go a little more.
-DIY
I don't anticipate I will be able to soundproof it much, but more concerned with getting the room ready for mixing.
What would you recommend I do for the acoustical aspects to making the room acceptable for mixing?
The room size is 11'4" x 11'.8" x 9' ceiling. (Not ideal, I know.)
We recorded this song about four weeks ago. I used my Kemper rack for the guitars and was pleasantly surprised when I was able to use it literally the same way I use an amp (by backing off in places and then turning up to get more gain) The Kemper responded just like an amp!
Due to the fact that we cannot perform live at the moment we decided to do a live stream from my studio. We performed our CCR Tribute show and I also recorded the live tracks in the DAW. Guitar was played direct via the Kemper and the Bass was played via the Line 6 Helix.
We setup four cameras (vocals, bass, guitar, drums) and filmed the performance.
One underrated Studio tool ! After 20 years of using affordable ones, I finally bought one that stays in place. Listen to the videos see what I'm talking about ! ;)

WWA (my group) has returned to tracking a new collection for release somewhere on the calendar next year. I've got this piece nearly done - but for some background vocals inserted in the chorus.
We lost a couple members (one moved out of state, and the other got too busy) since I last checked in, and we're down to a 4 piece band now.
I wanted to know if the Focusrite 18I20 will be sufficient for Recording.
Main goal Is to setup a Semi Professional Studio.
Would there be a Way to work around not getting a Mixer?
It would also be how my Microphones I need.
The Maximum I would need is Recording a Drum Kit.
