signal flow

Hey gang, yet another video, I just hope I'm not annoying RO members.. ;)

This time, I explore the different options of signal path within Samplitude and through the audio interface.

If You wanted to use an Outboard Processor such as a limiter or parametric EQ on a particular input position on a 32 Input Inline Console, how would you route the signal to and from the device. What would be the signal flow chart?

I currently use an mbox2 as my interface/preamp/converters. I purchased a rackmount compressor, but am not sure of the correct way to hook it in the chain with my mbox...before the mbox?

I've just purchased a complete studio package secondhand some of the items do not have manuals and would like to have help with single flow

Pro Tools digi 002 rack
Mackie Pro Tools controller
Mackie 24/4 channel mixer

Greetings! I'm trying to figure out what would be the best setup for the following gear. . There's probably several different ways one could go about doing this, and I've started but have a few questions.. I'm kind of new to all of this but recently had the opportunity to design a small studio for a non-profit. If anyone could help with a diagram or some advice I'd really appreciate it..

I route the signal the following way:

1. Mic
2. snake
3. Behringer UB2442FX Mixer
4. Digi 002Rack
5. Computer

If you get a decent preamp, will it be better to ignore the mixer (I know Behringer stuff is not good at all), and just go directly to the digi002 through the preamp (via ADAT for example) and use the mixer for monitoring only?
