Mackie buys Soundscape's technology?

What's up with this? SYDEC developed the technology that's used in Soundscapes DAW's. Hmm.

Please soundscape, get multiple mixtremes running on the same PC to communicate without sticking a TDIF cable between them and Loosing 16 ! I/O's
next, as you may have noticed, on the SS mixtreme forum, other users are also chiming in to make a Native app for mixtreme editing and mixing
A couple of months ago, I posted on the DUC
regarding the lack of accessibility to the
general cyber-public on the Soundscape forum,
and now I'm very glad that I did. Since then,
I have continued to stress the fact that it
was important to SS to allow us all to see
what their users are experiencing. I'm very

Ok. here we go again..
I have heard that you can "customize" your mixer in R.ed.. How much can you customize it?
I suppose that you can have dynamic FX's on the mixer. can you have your plug's pre compressor? or pre compressor post EQ? how about: Plug>Comp>Plug>gate>Eq ?
Thank you Fredrik, Suart_Brewster, for some very good responses and points. Fredrik your list is already in due process.
Hello everybody
Let`s start in the first part just with technical facts:
You get 16 buses with a SSHDR 1 (I think you get 32 with the Red but that makes no difference) and 4 analog/digital outs and 2 ins plus 1 TDIF (for the Red you got 3 TDIFs).
The SSHDR 1 can do 12 tracks, the regular Red 32 tracks and the Red24, guess what, 24 right.
First and foremost. The quality of the source material is paramount!
Granted there are some tricks & technics you can use to improve something, do not ever start a session thinking you can fix it later! This is a big mistake, way to many engineers do ( Not just, new engineers suffer from this, old timers as well, Due to laziness)
I have been debating/ holding off on buying Pro Tools because of all the hipe about soundscape and now I hear about nuendo.
I feel that the DAW's are the way to go.
What is soundscape all about. Pro Tools seems to be the industry standard and isn't this a very important dission maker?
just got a flyer on R.ED/ soundscape. It looks pretty cool
