subwoofer problems

I have two Wharfedale Titan Sub-A15's and they no longer work due to an unknown issue. Does anyone know whether these subs are reliable? Any way to troubleshoot?

So ive had this issue with my subbwoofer that its randomly stops sending out any sound.

it can be dead for a day or two and then suddenly just starts working again.

I recently purchased a 10" KRK subwoofer to go along with my RoKit G2 Powered 8s. I had my 8s hooked up to my computer via a single 3.5 to left/right RCA cable. I attempted to use a similar cable with my sub. The speaker test worked fine, but on playback I have no sub.
