compression settings for tape emulation
gday everyone.
gday everyone.
Ive read articles that DDP and exabytes are the best formarts to put a master ready for CD duplication. I have no idea of what on earth they are kindly assist.
So heres the deal... my band recently recorded at a studio using a Tascam DA-88. We ended up tracking 6 songs on 2 synced up Hi-8 tapes (one for drum tracks, the other for instrument tracks). We now need to transfer each seperate track onto my computer to record overdubs and begin mixing...
Hey everyone. My dad was asking me if theres a way to get his tapes from way back when, and put them into a Pro Tools session so he could mess with them and put them onto CD cause there starting to age. I tried going from the headphone of the tape deck into the input 1 of the digi002 but it was distorted and waving in and out.
Hello,
I'm mixing a couple of projects with Analog Channel 2 across the SubMaster bus. It sounds really good and the clients are liking the mix sounds, due in part to the AC2 plug. However, the AC2 seems to be acting a lot like a limiter and reducing dynamics.
I'm kind of new at setting things up in a studio, so please bear with me. I'd really appreciate any help I can get.
I just bought a Tascam MSR16S tape machine. I'm having trouble getting it set up, and I'm hoping that someone here can help me.
Hi,
Some of you may remember I bought an Otari MX5050, ASC Centretrack and Adams-Smith Zeta 3 with 2 Dolby A 361s.
Still getting my Pioneer RE-909 Reel to Reel up and running as pictured here:

...in the photo it's the one on top that is. The one on the bottom is an older 707 that needs LOTS of work and I'll get to that one later on.
I'm using a Pioneer RT-909 1/4" R2R deck at 15ips to record some personal tapes mixed from two Mac computers which are outputting from iTunes via mini-jacks wired through a Gemini PS-04 3-Channel 10" DJ Mixer with FX.
