Decisions, Decisions... which takes to keep

Takes on a different level!
Hello everyone I need advice on what could be the problem. When recording vocals they seem to get lower. Each take is lower then the one before. It just keeps decreasing. The wave form goes from normal to just a line. They are rap vocals by the way. If anyone could it would be much appreciated.

Average takes before you get "the one" ?
Sometimes when I'm recording vocals it takes me quite a few takes, maybe 10-15, before I can get that one that really sounds good. Is this normal, or do I just suck? Or does it not matter as long as you can get to that really good one?

Hey guys, have a look/listen at these:

Do you think these are real Bonham outtakes? I'd say they sound like they were, but how would you get your hands on stuff like this? I mean these are old recordings!
