tannoy reveal

I was looking for a good pair of studio monitors and bought the Tannoy Reveal 6 .Didn't realize they were not powered. So now I have to get an amp. Was wondering if I could get some advise on which amp I should get.

Hi, I'm in need of 1 tweeter for a tanoy reveal 6P but I can't seem to find one. My 4 year old stuck his finger through it so it's minus treble on 1 monitor.

I know they are not great monitors and I also know it may be false economy but I can't afford shiny new monitors so a cheap fix is the only choice I have.

Hope someone can help.

Hey everyone, ive been hanging around these forums for a while and i decided instead of trolling to find the answers i want. I would just ask !

Anyway's, right now i am in the process of purchasing a pair of studio monitors. I would like your thoughts and opinions on the following.

We have 4 pair of tannoy reveal active monitors (foh, tv sound, and 2 audio editors). These are the only nearfields that I have any real experience with. It seems that they used to be a pretty big hit, but I haven't heard much about them as of late.
A lot of people seem to like the sound of the event tr8's and both pair are currently at the same pricepoint.

Ok I figured out my original question, but I have a new one, is there any huge advantage of having the actives?

I realise I could save a lot getting the passive versions and a nice amp... can anyone suggest why I would be better off with the actives?

Can anyone recommend a good amp to power pair of new Tannoy Reveal 8?
Someone said that the amp taht's good for NS10s will be a good mach for Tannoy Reveals as well. Is that true?
