Unbalanced output to balanced inputs
I am currently trying to read up on this subject. My audio interface accepts either balanced or unbalanced 1/4" jacks into its inputs, and out of its outputs.

I just recently bought an old Yamaha RM 2408 board that I just realized has all unbalanced outputs. I want to go to a patchbay from the board but I'm not sure if I should get tranformers for every output to switch to balanced or if it matters .
I'm eventually going into a digi 002.
There's also a patchbaybuilt into the board with Aux sends/returns and Inserts. All unbalanced.
Hi all!
I recently read this review on the mpc-1000 and one of the cons was that it had unbalanced outputs... What's so bad about un-balanced outputs and why (I assume) are balanced outputs better? Thanks..
Am using a Mackie 1604 for live board and came across a noise problem last weekend. The monitor output is an unbalanced TR jack and was connected to a 100 snake via a 1/4 TRS jack. This fed a TRS input into my amp on stage for the monitors.
