Will they drop PT HD1, HD2 OF prices?
"The ACCEL card appears to be a super dsp card replacement for the HD Process card. The new card is twice as powerful - but has a list price only $500 higher. HD2 and HD3 ACCEL systems will include the new card instead of the Process cards previously shipped with these systems. The other news is that ACCEL is shipping immediately."
If this is really true, will PT HD1/2 OF get cheaper? This would make more people upgrade .

This most recent release by Digidesign really hasn't been a public relations success. I think they should be giving a good rebate to folks who bought HD systems prior to the Accel release, and bundle it in with new sales. They are obviously running the company like a computer company: release stuff before it is properly ready, then release subsequent "upgrades" that are required to perform functions advertised in the initial release. Sure, stuff like this happens with companies in other fields, but it seems endemic in computers. I say nail the system together BEFORE it's released, and put out new systems every three-four years that are rock solid. David
