Hey I'm looking for a decent acoustic drum VST like brushes and all that. I'm looking to do some stripped down versions of songs. Any suggestions?
Also, how about a slide guitar VST or a lap slide VST, the kind you hear in country songs, or "Freedom Isn't Free" from Team America.

Honestly man, I recently broke down and got the Reason Drums 2.0 Refill and I couldn't be happier with it. While there are only a few actual brush kits, perhaps instead of raving about how easy it is to customize kits (common with most software like reason) I should note that the quality of these drum sounds far surpasses what I had anticipated. For a brush kit, I'll generally assign brushes on my snare, toms, cymbals, and find a jazzy-er sounding kick. Might not be exactly what your looking for, but I'd at least suggest downloading a demo and seeing what it's capable of.
Good luck!
Best,
Brad

Hello! Aside from the previously mentioned Addictive Drums, there's Toontrack EZX's (Jazz, and Nashville also has a "brushes kit"), which I've been using with decent results; also you might want to check out the NDK (Natural Drum Kit) at , the demos are pretty impressive. It's just a sample library, I guess, but a huge one with may nuances (rolls, swirls, flams, etc.). I'm probably going to get it myself real soon, it's only available from Atelier Robin, near Montreal, Quebec, as a "license" to access the library, possibly the most extensive available (30 GB). I'd be interested if anybody else has any experience with NDK or Addictive Drums (the Modern Jazz: Brushes expansion with "RealSweep Technology")--kind of apples and oranges, I know, but apparently they both have some of the few and some of the best brush sounds out there. I'm hoping to get one or the other, and appreciate any advice. Thanks! J.P.
