Everyone has told me that i should at least have one really good condenser mic for my studio. I am wondering what you guys would recommend. Im not looking to break the bank here, but i am willing to spend around 1200. How do the AKG 414's sound in comparison to the Neumannn's? Specifically the tlm 127? Any other recommendations?

I have found the Soundelux U-195 to be exceptionally versatile with the potential to be far larger sounding than any of the other mics you've described... but as always... YMMV.
