Can anyone help? Recording A CD Into Logic From A Laptop

I hope I understand this correctly. If you have a song on a CD and want to use it in a Logic session you have to use some sort of CD ripping software to get that audio file off of the CD and into your hard drive. I use Roxio Toast. Once you get the track off of the CD and into your hard drive you can open the audio window in Logic and use the add audio file command to bring the audio file into the Logic session and then move it from there into the arrange window and you're done.

Go to system preferences/ DVD,CD.



under When audio CD is inserted open...iTunes.



In iTunes preferences set the export option to .aif.



There is really no need to RECORD a CD, it's just a collection of digital files, treat them like any other file.

...after loading a CD audio file in Logic, is there a way of splitting the vocals out of the song without distorting the vocal sound? To ask it another way, how can I take the vocals out of an audio file song in Logic?



Any help would be awesome....

When people do remixes they receive the multitrack sessions from the label.



Do a search there are some things you can do to get close but it's not perfect.
