I just read that Digi control 24 arent compatible with digi 002, how does the mixer interact with Pro Tools?

do you mean that protools only recognized the control 24 as one input?
or that i would have to get additional protools hw?

i would like to get the d-command but thats way out of the question of course considering its just a big remote, thel 24 has some nice preamps and a analog submixer which i found really enticing..

If you are using PTLE it can only access one digidesign interface at a time.

The max I/O for the 002 are eight analog, eight digital via lightpipe(ADAT), SPDIF (digital stereo) for a total of 18. That's it to get more inputs you would have to step up to the industry standard PT|HD sytems, not to be confused with Pro Tools Limited Edition.(PTLE)
