Does anyone have any info about how useful the d8b is as a control surface for DP or Logic? Does the HUI have features that the d8b doesn't or was it just made for people who can't afford a d8b but want to control a DAW?

Basically, I'm looking to use our d8b as a control surface for DP or Logic rather than going out and buying a HUI or Radikal Technologies thing. Any info would be appreciated!

(LOVE this forum!)

Gav..I haven't tried the control thing in since december when mackie 3.0 came out..so this is probably old news

the midi fader/pan control worked fine

no mutes

transport:
stop, play and rewind function ok..FF crashes DP

I'm sure Dan Worley on the Mackie list has the most recent info on this application with DP. I've gotten used to using my mac keypad for controling DP

Thanks Chris. I've gotten pretty used to using the keypad too but since we have the d8b I figured it would be great if the integration with controlling DP could be better than it looks like it is. We may have to spring for the HUI or something like that.
I appreciate the wisdom though. I've been hovering over at the Mackie forum and the general concensus is similar there.
