There is no sound quality difference if you playback a wav file on a Intel 33MHz PC and A dual cpu/dual core G5. Converters and software are what changes the sound.

Yep. The difference will be in how quickly the processing goes, and how many plugins and effects you can use before it chokes. Just more options to make it harder to make final decisions.
