sorry guys I'm sure this is simple, but i cant figure out how to edit automation lines on multiple subtracks at once, like since i have so many drum tracks i want them all to do the same thing how do i do that in an easy fashion without having to literally do the same things on each and every one of them?
thanks if anyone can help

There are a few ways...
If you're not using sends to effect channels you can create a stereo group track and send all drumtracks to this group and just automate the one group track's automation.
You can, in fact, copy and paste automation points. But there are rules. Make sure the cursor is at the beginning of your project and make sure that you have an automation point right at the beginning as well. Now open the automation lane that you have already written to, right click on the drop down lane - select all events - copy, then open the next track's proper automation lane - read enable - then paste...
The other thing you can do is link the tracks in the mixer window - read/write enable all the licked tracks - then just automate in realtime by clicking mute, solo, faders, panners etc... on any one of the linked tracks. The only problem with this is the db law bug if your using version 1 or 2 of cubase or nuendo. As i under stand this has been fixed in version 3.
Good luck and have fun!

Well, there are a few ways (I think) to do this. If you are doing identical changes to all drum tracks, you could simply get everything NOT automated correct first, and then solo all the tracks that will recieve the same automation. Export this as it's own submix and put it back into the main mix, applying the automation at that point. This becomes time consuming if you still want to take out a rim-shot here and put in a fill there...as you will have to re-bounce the tracks anytime you need an individual change.
You can also cut and paste points on an automation curve. I'm not sure if you can move them from track to track this way though. You might try setting everything up to be automated, highlighting all the tracks and clicking away (I just thought of this, actually, so it might not work).
If you SEND all the drum tracks to an effect, you will quickly find that only the wet amount is automatable. Sometimes you can get around this if the effect is MIDI controllable. You will know right away by creating a MIDI track and then looking for the plugin in the list of available MIDI outputs. If it can be controlled, you will see it in the same place as you normally see VSTi's listed, and will have to consult the directions for CC#'s, etc...
When I have multiple layers of effects that must be applied to different groups of tracks throughout the course of the song (my songs only) I tend to color-code the mix into the groups that I anticipate will need to be tied together. Then, once the song is finished on a basic level, I will export the whole thing in these groups to a new song file. Here I can, well, you get the point. This is mostly because the songs I write have a very high track-count and many of these tracks are virtual and rewire tracks that I cannot apply the full range of mutations to. Blah, blah.
Hope this helps a little.
