Im recording my band, and we have this part in our song that we would like to make it sound different. the whole song is normal, but we have this breakdown where we think the sound of an old record playing our part, would make it sound real nice. if you understand what i mean please help me find the effect that would help me achieve this!

If you're using protools, there's this pretty cool BombFactory p
If you're using protools, there's this pretty cool BombFactory plugin called the FunkLogicMasterizer that adds whatever amount of hiss, pops, and noise you want. I got it for free from digidesign's website.
Otherwise, you could maybe just use eq to push up the mids and bring everything else down to get that telephone effect. Hope these suggestions help.
