The beauty of Logic when it was available for PC (still works on PC but 5.5.1 was the last version) is that it is incredibly easy to use without getting in the way of creativety. The inclusion of 'Audio Instrument' channels to plug VST Instruments into is a very handy feature. The Platinum version as it was known included many Software instruments like the ES1,ES2, ES P, ES E, EVOC 20 ect... + my favourite the awesome EXS24mkII soft sampler.
So the reason you've heard techno/trance type things is probably because of these included software instruments. With the right VSTi's it's possible to create this genre in any sequencer. Some of the VSTi's around at the moment are awesome. Look at the new Korg Legacy Collection (current favourite), Steinberg's Xphraze and Hypersonic plugins.
Emagic/Apple if you read this BRING IT BACK TO PC :) Please

yeah, logic has nothing, but nothing in common with stuff like fruity loops, sorry makes my hair in the neck stand right up !!
logic is a pro sequencer which is extremely powerfull and let's you record, create (midi and audio are both strongly supported) music, edit it and so on and so on....., plus it sounds very, very good the sound engine is awsome, plus it's loaded with decent plugs and some very good synths, etc.
basically you can create or record ANY type of music, the only restriction is yourself. or the lack of musical creativity!!!
fruity loops is a sample based player all in one puzzle your music together i try to evolve with recording in version 5 easy to use make a song in 5minutes thingy called, eh fruity loops, sorry just have to take the piss....
i just hate those sample player based toys.
and please never compare stuff like logic, dp, pt with stuff like FL or reason it's a different league!!!

The judge of what?
Logic and FL Studio have very little in common. But (no offence) if you're talented and creative enough it is easily possible to create any style or genre in Logic.
