Does anybody use/know of the Joemeek VC3Q? I have the op to buy one without the power supply...examination of back panel pics show that the unit is imprinted with "use only power supply provided" and "12v AC".
Does anybody know what the amps rating of the provided power supply is? I am being offered this unit at a great pricew, but will not buy it unless i know what kind of power supply to get...

Hi welcome to RO,
Excellent advice from moonbaby, as always, about try before you buy. Which means run it for 30 minutes, or more, if you can before you lay out the cash.
I don't have a VC3Q, but I DO have an MC2 and a threeQ. They each run from 12V AC and the power supplies for those are both labelled 12V AC 1000 mA output (in other words 1 Amp), which makes sense - since the manuals for the threeQ and mc2 indicate 12 watts power consumption.
watts / volts = amps 12 watts / 12 volts = 1 amp (or 1000 mA)
The VC3Q vaguely refers to a 5w power rating, but it doesn't specify if it is consumption. If it were definite, you could go 500 mA and have a little headroom. But to be safe, I'd try to find a 1000 mA power supply from a new one. In this case, an abundance of milliamps won't be a problem.
Good luck!

Contact their distributor in your country for the power wart. I wouldn't touch ANY Joe Meek product-especially the newer Chinese gear- without giving it a thorough test run. There are too many variables if you don't test it out BEFORE you buy it. Everybody will innocently claim that they "lost" the adapter, but the truth is, it could have been fried by a lightning strike or power surge, and this could render the processor DEAD. And without a supply, you wouldn't be able to verify the operation of the unit before you hand over the green...:)
