Well, if you follow my tweak guide you won't need a consultant to come down to do the tweaking for you! This is one of the reasons I created it in the first place.
Yes, the driver issues are still valid. I don't know what the main differences of the SL vs. the SX versions are so I couldn't help you there but if the price is not that much why not go for the full blown version and be done with it!!!!
You are quite welcome by the way!

I think the main differences between Sl and SX are that SX adds the ability to use more VST-i's and adds the scoring features. When it comes to upgrades in the future you will probably be happier if you had just bought SX to begin with...
As far as the monitors go, I have to say I am amazed with the Behringer truth monitors. I am not a big Behringer fan, but these are the best monitors for under 800.00 a pair out there. And I've seen them for as low as 349.00 including shipping for the pair...

Well, a buddy o mine told me about the issue at first, who actually deals for them I believe, and then also someone on the Nuendo forum posted a link to the issue as well......

what motherboard is he using? What memory? What other components? The delta's are ok and there are some issues with those drivers and XP so you may want to make sure it truly works ok or not. Also there is a phase problem with the delta cards when using +4 and -10 level settings as well...there's a lot of people upset with delta in the fact that they are not updating the drivers quick enough or willing to fix some of these issues.
I have no experience with the Behringer but a 1402 label is a mackie brand name...the Mackie 1402 it's called...I looked at the Behringer site and did not see a 1402 model...so you may want to make sure you got the correct model name...
Event speakers are fine..I personally like the KRK V4's...very natural and very accurate in terms of mixing and spatialization...
XP is a great OS...plain and simple.
Give us details as to what components he is using. This is the key...if he is using cheap components than he's taking you for a ride..also how much is he charging?
